A medium sized Ceratopsid known from the Late Cretaceous of Alberta, Canada. Anchiceratops grew to around 4.3 - 6 meters in adult length. It was one of the rarer ceratopsids of the Horseshoe Canyon region. The frill of Anchiceratops was medium sized and squared; adorned with several bony projections like a crown of thorns. One of the closest relatives of Anchiceratops was Arrhinoceratops; a similarly sized ceratopsid known from the same area. Like other ceratopsids, Anchiceratops may have fed on the tougher foliage that other herbivores might have avoided; using it's powerful and sharp beak and dental batteries to chop their food.
